Be Vulnerable with Your People
Why authentic leadership requires transparency about your weaknesses — and how hiding them damages the trust you're trying to build.
Show Notes
There's a misconception that leaders need to project strength at all times — that admitting weakness somehow undermines your authority. I've found the opposite to be true.
In this episode, I make the case for authentic leadership through vulnerability. When you try to conceal your weaknesses, your team sees through it anyway — and the pretense damages trust. But when you acknowledge your shortcomings openly, you create psychological safety for your team to take appropriate risks and be honest about their own challenges.
